Work
So, I don’t usually post much about work. Okay, so I don’t usually post much period, but still.
Anyway, I quit my job today. Two weeks notice, the whole deal.
I’ve been here five years, so it’s all feeling very odd, but nice. I may still be in shock. Hard to tell.
After my last day, I’m taking a week off to putter about at home and ride the rails as a hobo crime fighter. If that doesn’t pan out, I’ll be working for a large fruit-based computer maker by the beginning of next month.

Really? :) Can I safely conclude that congratulations are therefore in order?

That part may be cryptic, but it’s all true. (Fewer guarantees about the hobo crime fighting, mind you.)
I’ll be working in the new offices in the CIC on CMU campus, which ought to be a little weird.
Being on campus for Carnival again ought to rule, though.

Hey, that’s really cool. Congrats to you, and let us know how you like your new job.

Well, many congratulations are clearly in order!
So… Congratulations indeed! :) Can you share anything about how you found and got the job, and/or what you’ll be working on? I’m assuming (perhaps wrongly) that there are filesystems involved somehow…

Whoa, great news! Congratulations!

I have a couple friends who work in the local office, so I sent a resume in with them.
There are no filesystems involved; I’m sick of working in storage these days, since I’ve been doing it for eight years straight. I’ll be doing consumer applications, which will be a pretty major shift.
