Belated Christmas

Bookslut links to a fabulous China Miéville christmas story in the Socialist Review:

A little late, but how can you resist a Christmas story written by China Mieville and published in the Socialist Review? You just can’t.

She’s right. Also, I may never be able to stop saying “Aggravated Subarborial Giftery”.

On a vaguely related but far more capitalist note, I should probably write up something about Nemacolin, which was great. Eh, I’ll do it later.

Vacation

In the morning Laura and I are off to Nemacolin Woodlands, a nice resort in the Laurel Highlands where we’ll be spending Christmas.

It’s weird not doing the family holiday thing, but I’m looking forward to trying something new for the holidays.

Also, every time I take time off from work I realize just how lousy I am at it — I start off each vacation all nervous and twitchy about how I’m not doing any work, and generally calm down and relax just in time to go back to work.

I’m off from work until the 3rd this time around, though, so hopefully that’ll be long enough to get some actual relaxation in.

Anyway, time to go to sleep so we can get up early and do a gift exchange with Laura’s family before heading off to Nemacolin.

I hate comment spammers.

I just had to delete a bunch of spam comments from here and a few HUNDRED from Laura’s weblog.

So I guess I get to spend the evening installing comment-spam-preventing tools.

Dear comment-spammers of the world: Thanks so much! Please die painfully.
